Appeal N16: Sept '06: NAVA PRATIVA SCHOOL, Kusha Devi, Panauti, Nepal, caters for 175 students between the ages of three to sixteen. It has very poor, dark and cramped classrooms, and needs a new building. Land has already been provided by the school founders. Can you or your organisation help to build some new classrooms? Please contact SHIVA Charity if you can.

Nava Prativa English Medium School is in a small village named Kusha Devi, and about 3 Km. away from Panauti. The school is run by the local community, and the principal of the school is Mr. Jitendra Ghimire. The school provides education to class ten, with 175 students 16 teaching staff and 2 non-teaching staff. The buildings are rented, and the fees from the parents do not cover the costs of educational equipment and teachers pay.

The photo (above right) shows the available land for building. A unit with four classrooms would cost £5000. (A complete school would cost £12,000).

Please consider raising funds to give this school and its children a safe and well-equipped place to study. E-mail bob@shivacharity.com if you think you can help!
