Karen took on the daunting personal task of funding a poor school in Darjeeling. In 2005 there were just a few children being taught in a wooden shack (photo right). Now the school has been rebuilt, and the children have new uniforms and equipment. In April 2007 Karen visited the school, with her 13 year old daughter, Emily.
